Women and Work: Expanding Leadership, Pay Equity, and Economic Power

AAUW is holding a parallel event at the 61st Commission on the Status of Women and the Nongovernmental Organization (NGO) Forum in New York City on March 14, 2017.

The event will present a panel of experts highlighting the challenges and successes that lie ahead in advancing the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals, especially in the realm of women’s work and economic empowerment. This interactive discussion will feature AAUW’s research, programs, and an expert panel to examine strategies for advocacy, dialogue, and action to dismantle barriers to women’s full engagement at work and in the modern economy.

As an ECOSOC-accredited nongovernmental organization, AAUW is invited to participate in the annual Commission on the Status of Women, March 13–24, 2017. AAUW members and leaders attend sessions at the United Nations during the CSW, as well as other parallel events organized by nongovernmental organizations from around the world.
