Use this presentation to share the findings from AAUW’s 2012 report Graduating to a Pay Gap: The Earnings of Women and Men One Year after College Graduation at meetings, conferences, and other events. Graduating to a Pay Gap explores the earnings difference between female and male college graduates at the beginning of their careers. Using the latest nationally representative data, Graduating to a Pay Gap finds that even after controlling for factors found to affect earnings including occupation, college major, and hours worked, women are still paid less than men one year after college graduation. The report also examines one immediate effect of the pay gap for many women: high student loan debt burden.
