Tools and References are materials like forms, reports, brochures, and tool kits that you need to support your work. If you need AAUW materials for an upcoming event, a particular reporting form, or access to historical information on AAUW’s position on public policy issues, Tools and References provide an easy system to help you find what you’re looking for.
Step 3: Search for the resources you need.
If you choose Leader Essentials
When you click on Leader Essentials, you will get to a page where AAUW’s nine core leadership skills are displayed with a visual stamp, name, and description. On the left sidebar, you will also see a selection menu listing the nine core skills and a drop-down menu listing AAUW leadership roles above a search button.
Select one of the stamps to access a listing of all the resources that will help you build that core skill.
Or you can use the left sidebar to filter resources by core skills and role.

If you choose Tools and References
When you click on Tools and References, you will get to a page listing the types of resources, featuring the most commonly accessed resource types (the ones with icons) at the top. On the left sidebar, you will also see drop-down menus listing types and AAUW leadership roles above a search button.
Select the type of resources you’re looking for among the icons and list.
Or you can use the left sidebar to filter resources by type and role.

Step 4: View your search results.
Whatever you select, your results page will display resources, with the most recently updated ones at the top. If multiple resources meet your selected criteria, only the 10 most recently updated ones will be listed. You will see additional pages listed below these first 10. Each page will display up to 10 additional results.
Step 5: Access your resource.
Click on the title, image (if applicable), or “read more” to read its full details.
Integration of Leader Essentials and Tools and References resources is an important strategy for AAUW’s resources. In each resource you will find links to important related resources as well as other relevant content under “Related” at the bottom.
Other tips for finding resources
If you ever find yourself in Leader Essentials but need to get to Tools and References or vice versa, click on the “go to” link in the left sidebar, or click on the resource tab drop-down menu.

If you cannot find what you need using the left sidebar, we recommend searching for the item. Our search tool is powered by Google and uses both keywords and resource popularity to find results. Some tips for searching: Use plain language, don’t use quotation marks, and don’t include “AAUW” in your search terms.
