How to strengthen your bond with AAUW after graduation

Congratulations, graduate! You may have left college, but you haven’t left AAUW. As a matter of fact, what feels like an ending is really a new beginning.

Your opportunities are limitless at AAUW. More than 170,000 members and supporters are eager to help you continue your education or get into the workforce.

Four ways to stay connected and make a difference:

  1. Follow us and join the conversation on Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, and Twitter so you never miss an opportunity to empower women and girls.
  2. Become a Two-Minute Activist. Take action on issues that affect you and the people in your life.  Need advocacy tips? Sign up for our e-newsletter, AAUW Washington Update.
  3. Prepare for your next steps, whether that’s continuing on the academic track or beginning your professional career. Attend an AAUW Work Smart salary negotiation training or keep an eye on our events page for our next Virtual Graduate School Fair. Don’t forget to apply for one of AAUW’s fellowships or grants. We give out more than $3.7 million each year to outstanding women and nonprofit organizations.
  4. Give back to girls and college women in your community by volunteering at AAUW Tech Trek or AAUW Tech Savvy or by serving as AAUW salary negotiation facilitator.

Younger Women’s Task Force

YWTF is an AAUW community of women who are dedicated to the advancement and empowerment of women for the next generation. YWTF has chapters across the country, with new ones cropping up all the time. Don’t see one near you? Take the initiative and start a chapter in your city!

AAUW Branch Membership

Becoming a branch member is a great way to get involved on the local level. If you’ve served in an AAUW student organization, you might already be connected to a local branch. Branches offer leadership, mentorship, community building, and activism opportunities. If you’re moving out of state after your undergraduate or graduate career, there’s surely a branch nearby to welcome you!
